Manipur's daily COVID-19 positivity rate continues to drop

Manipur's COVID-19 confirmed caseload reached 1,16,607 as 210 more people succumbed to the disease on Friday.

Manipur's daily COVID-19 positivity rate dropped to 6.8 per cent with 210 more positive cases reported on Friday, taking the total confirmed caseload to 1,16,607. The COVID-19 death toll mounted to 1,807 with one more death witnessed in Imphal East, according to the latest update by the state Health Services.

Imphal West and Imphal East continued to report the highest number of new COVID-19 cases with 80 and 57 positive cases respectively. Eleven cases were reported from Bishnupur, 32 from Churachandpur, 14 from Ukhrul, seven from Thoubal, three from Kamjong, two each from Chandel and Kakching and one each from Kangpokpi and Senapati, according to a release issued by State COVID-19 Common Control Room. 

All necessary medical precautionary measures like containment and contact tracing are in place, it stated.

The single COVID-19 fatality recorded on Friday is from Imphal East, the release stated.

The state also recorded new 658 recoveries, taking the cumulative number of recovered cases to 1,12,031. The recovery rate is 96.8 per cent, the release added.

Manipur now has 2,769 COVID-19 active cases, as per the release.

Meanwhile, a total of 1,343 D-type Oxygen Cylinders and  337 B-type Oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health institutions and health facilities of Manipur in the last 24 hours.

As per the latest update, the total number of people who have been administered the vaccine had reached 15,84,886 (first dose: 11,98,915 and second dose: 3,85,971).

According to the release, there are 450 vacant general beds and 100 ICU/HDU beds of COVID-19 in nine hospitals of Manipur. 

In ILAND Hospital (Contact No. 9540404955/ 7085206820) there are 17 vacant general beds; in MSF, Little flower School (Contact No. 9311222947) there are 17 vacant general beds and six ICU/HDU beds; in CMC, Koirengei (Contact No. 9612636004/9612905628) there are 27 vacant general beds and four ICU/HDU beds;  in Iboyaima Hospital, Singjamei (Contact No.7005436870/ 9612022125) there are 27 vacant general beds and three ICU/HDU beds; in Jivan Hospital, Kakching (Contact No. 9366034272/ 7085348366) there are 16 vacant general beds and eight ICU/HDU beds; in Shija Hospital (Contact No. 7005097688/7005125158) there are 45 vacant general beds and 30 ICU/HDU beds; in Raj Medicity (Contact No.7005105552/9366496411) there are 82 vacant general beds and 18 ICU/HDU beds, in RIMS (Contact No. 7640862396) there are 185 vacant general beds and 23 ICU/HDU beds and in JNIMS (Contact No. 8131855346) there are 34 general beds and eight ICU/HDU, it mentioned.
