Thoubal district on Thursday joined the rest of the state in observing the 4th Rashtriya Poshan Maah which is to be held from September 1 to 30 and Matru Vandana Saptah, 2021 across the nation.
The occasion organised by district administration Thoubal at District Election counting hall was attended by Thoubal District Zilla Parishad Adhyaksha Hashina; deputy commissioner Thoubal Rangnamei Rang Peter; member Charangpat Zilla Parishad Ph Heramani; and chief medical officer Thoubal Dr Y Nokul as chief guest, president and guest of honour respectively.
Speaking on the topic ‘converging towards on healthy walk through life’, district programme officer, ICDS, Thoubal Tourangbam Anita expressed that during the month-long observation of Rashtriya Poshan Maah, awareness programmes, planting of trees with nutritional values, creation of gardens, and programmes for providing proper diet to children below six years as per their weight will be carried out.
Deputy commissioner Rangnamei Rang Peter urged key departments in the district for coordination and cooperation to make the observation of Rashtriya Poshan Maah in the district successful.
As a part of the observation, three selected women, who became mothers for the first time, from the district were provided monetary aid under Matru Vandana Saptah.
The event was attended by district level officers, ADM and AC Thoubal.
