The District Health Society Thoubal organised a one-day reproductive child health camp and COVID-19 vaccination drive at Hangamthabi Community Hall, Lilong on Saturday.
The medical officers and paramedical staff of Primary Health Centre Lilong took active part in the successful organisation of the camp.
Chief medical officer, Thoubal Dr Y Nokul Singh; district programme manager Ch Basanta Singh and medical officer in charge, PHC Lilong Dr Md Farooque Sheikh attended in the inaugural part of the health camp.
In his address to the public, chief medical Thoubal Dr Y Nokul Singh stated that the ‘Reproductive Child Health Camp’ was organised especially for conducting health check up of the mothers and their children.
During this pandemic, the camp also emphasised on COVID-19 vaccination of the non-vaccinated public, routine immunisation, health check up, providing diagnostic facilities, provision of free medicine to the patients, health awareness to the public and others.
Similar child health camps and COVID-19 vaccination programmes are also planned to be organised at Ngangou Bazar Lilong Haoreibi on August 31, 2021, Mina Bazar Moijing on September 2, Sangaiyumpham on September 4 and Phundrei on September 6, 2021.
Altogether, 154 people benefited from the health camp. Free drugs and diagnostics were provided to the patients.
