Manipur records 386 new COVID-19 positive cases, four deaths

Manipur's COVID-19 confirmed caseload reached 1,11,598, while the death toll rose to 1,759 on Tuesday.

Manipur on Tuesday recorded 386 new COVID-19 positive cases, pushing the state's tally to 1,11,598 while the death toll rose to 1,759 with four more fatalities, according to the latest update by the state health department. It said that the positivity rate is 11 per cent currently. 

Of the four COVID-19 fatalities recorded on Tueday, two deaths were reported from Imphal West and one fatality each from Imphal East and Chandel, according to a release issued by the state COVID-19 Common Control Room. It stated that two of the victims had co-morbidities and one of them was vaccinated with the first dose.

Despite the drop in the daily Covid-19 positive cases, Imphal West and Imphal East continued to report the highest number of new COVID-19 cases with 153 and 59 cases respectively. Eight positive cases were from Bishnupur, 50 from Churachandpur, 30 from Kakching, nine from Senapati, 14 each from Tamenglong and Ukhrul, 15 from Thoubal, 21 from Pherzawl, five from Chandel, four from Kamjong and two each from Kangpokpi and Noney. 

All necessary medical precautionary measures like containment and contact tracing are in place, it stated.

The state also recorded new 478 recoveries, taking the cumulative number of recovered cases to 1,06,229. The recovery rate stood at 95.18 per cent, the release added.

Manipur now has 3,610 COVID-19 active cases, as per the release.

Meanwhile, a total of 1,46 D-type Oxygen Cylinders and  351 B-type Oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health institutions and health facilities of Manipur in the last 24 hours.

As per the latest update, the total number of people who have been administered the vaccine reached 14,88,264 (first dose: 11,78,292 and second dose: 3,09,972) as of Tuesday.

Number of Vacant Beds in Hospital

According to the release, there are 343 vacant general beds and 83 ICU/HDU beds of COVID-19 in nine hospitals of Manipur.

In ILAND Hospital (Contact No. 9540404955/ 7085206820) there are 14 vacant general beds; in MSF, Little flower School (Contact No. 9311222947) there are zero vacant general beds and 10 ICU/HDU beds; in CMC, Koirengei (Contact No. 9612636004/9612905628) there are 26 vacant general beds and six ICU/HDU beds.

In Iboyaima Hospital, Singjamei (Contact No.7005436870/ 9612022125) there are 19 vacant general beds and three ICU/HDU beds; in Jivan Hospital, Kakching (Contact No. 9366034272/ 7085348366) there are 15 vacant general beds and six ICU/HDU beds; in Shija Hospital (Contact No. 7005097688/7005125158) there are 33 vacant general beds and 27 ICU/HDU beds.

In Raj Medicity (Contact No.7005105552/9366496411), there are 66 vacant general beds and 15 ICU/HDU beds, in RIMS (Contact No. 7640862396) there are 134 vacant general beds and 16 ICU/HDU beds and in JNIMS (Contact No. 8131855346) there are 36 general beds and zero ICU/HDU, it mentioned.
