Chalachitram National Festival 2021: Manipuri filmmaker Romi Meitei’s 'Motsillaba Mingsel' bags awards

The short fiction bagged Grand Jury Award for Best Film, House of Illusion Award for Best Short Fiction at the Chalachitram National Festival 2021.

Manipuri Filmmaker Romi Meitei’s short fiction Motsillaba Mingsel (The Tainted Mirror) has bagged Grand Jury Award for Best Film, House of Illusion Award for Best Short Fiction at the Chalachitram National Festival 2021 held under aegis of Directorate of Film Festival and Cultural department, government of Assam.

Child artiste Master Yaikhomba (Disiraj) also won the 'Film Critic Circle of India Special Mention for the best Child Artiste' for his role in the film, stated a release. Paying homage to the 50 years of Manipuri Cinema, Aribam Syam Sharma’s Imagi Ningthem, Mk Binodi: A Tribute along with Haobam Pabankumar's The first lip were screened at the festival, it stated.

Motsillaba Mingsel (The Tainted Mirror) has found its place at other film festivals like Indian Film Festival of Melbourne, Lift off Session United Kingdom, Best Film International Film Festival Awards, and won accolades such as Best Director Kochin International Film Festival, Best Child Artsite, Best Cinematography Award at Creative Short Fest, Special Jury Award Manipur State Film Awards etc., it stated. The film will be released to the public by Mumbai based Pocket Film, it added.
