A 21-year-old man was found lying dead in a suspicious manner at the side of Heibong Makhong Jabar Hameng Salam road under Mayang Imphal Police Station on Saturday.
The deceased has been identified as one Md Ibadur Rahaman, 21, son of Md Tamijur Rahaman of Khelakhong Khongman. According to the family of the deceased, he had not returned after leaving the house on a bicycle on Friday.
However, there was no trace of the bicycle around the area where the deceased was found, and the body was also found barefooted. Police sources stated that there is a strong suspicion that the victim must have died at some other spot and was later left at the roadside. The police also found a syringe along with some substances suspected to be Brown Sugar from the body of the deceased, police sources added.
Meanwhile, the body is kept at RIMS mortuary awaiting post mortem.
