Naoriya Pakhanglakpa assembly constituency felicitates meritorious students

To keep them motivated, 158 students of the assembly constituency, who got letter marks and three position holders of the recent High School Leaving Certificate (HSLC) examination were given awards.

Students who excelled in the recent HSLC examination were felicitated on Friday during the ‘meritorious award presentation ceremony, BOSEM 2020 of 21-Naoriya Pakhanglakpa Assembly Constituency’ at the community hall of Chumthang Shannapung located at Langthabal Lep, Imphal West.

Speaking at the occasion, social worker and managing director of ‘Chumthang Shannapung’, Soraisam Ongbi Kebi Devi said that students should be honoured and they should be motivated with aims and ambition. She said, the people should face obstacles and issues together for the sake of students.

Kebi who is also the donor of the awards handed out today, said the programme is being organised amid the COVID-19 pandemic to motivate the students. To keep them motivated, 158 students of the assembly constituency, who got letter marks and three position holders of the recent High School Leaving Certificate (HSLC) examination were given awards.

She urged the people of the assembly constituency to cooperate with one other so that Naoriya Pakhanglakpa can become a model assembly constituency in the state. Kebi further said students who have financial problems will be given assistance to avoid from dropping out.

A cash reward of Rs 50,000 each along with mementos and certificates were handed over to three rank holding students. Moreover, 158 students who got letter marks were also felicitated with cash awards of Rs 1,000 for each letter mark along with certificate and mementos.

Social activist and special invitees of the programme, Kiran Yendrembam said a student should possess good intelligence quotient, emotional quotient, spiritual quotient and adversity quotient while asserting that it will be a big loss for a student if any one of them is missed.

The outbreak of COVID-19 has given a huge impact to students’ careers, he said and expressed his gratitude to Kebi for motivating the students amid the challenges.
