Charhajare village declared fully vaccinated
The village was on Friday declared the first fully vaccinated village in Saitu assembly constituency in Kangpokpi district.
After an extensive vaccination drive held at Charhajare under the initiative of MLA Ngamthang, the village was on Friday declared the first fully vaccinated village in Saitu assembly constituency.
An extensive vaccination was held on July 20 and 21 after a vaccination drive was carried out at Community Hall, Bishnulal High School, Charhajare under the supervision of Covid Awareness and Enforcement Committee 51-Saitu (ST) assembly constituency, stated a release signed by sub divisional officer, Saitu Gamphazol Dr N Johnson Meetei; Senior MO, PHC Gamphazol Dr Jamlal Haokip and representatives of the local MLA, Navin Gorkha Youth Club, Ngamthang Youth Team 51-Saitu (ST) AC, Covid task force Charhajare and BJP Saitu Mandal.
It stated that the vaccination drive was conducted by a team of Saitu Gamphazol PHC led by Dr Jamlal Haokip. Volunteers of Navin Gorkha Youth Club, Ngamthang Youth Team 51-Saitu AC, and BJP Saitu Mandal also took an active part in the identification of villagers under Charhajare village, it added.
The staff under SDO Saitu Gamphazol along with booth level officers, ASHA workers, Anganwadi workers participated in ensuring full vaccination of the villagers. After the vaccination of all villagers included in the electoral roll, a house-to-house visit to identify unvaccinated villagers was conducted by the volunteers of Navin Gorkha Youth Club on July 22, and the remaining villagers were vaccinated by the medical team, it added.
It further stated that after thorough checking for any left out villagers staying currently at Charhajare village, it was found that all the villagers who are eligible for vaccination as per current criteria have been fully vaccinated and the Charhajare village has been declared as the first COVID-19 fully vaccinated village of 51-Saitu (ST) assembly constituency on July 22.
