India's daily COVID-19 positivity rate remains below 3 pc

As per the latest update, the country’s weekly positivity rate remains below five per cent at 2.32 per cent, while the daily positivity rate fell to 2.59 per cent, less than three per cent for 21 consecutive days.

India on Monday reported 37,154 new COVID-19 positive cases, taking the active caseload to 4,50,899, constituting 1.46 per cent of the total confirmed cases of 3.08 crore, the Union Health and Family Welfare Ministry stated.

As per the latest update, the country’s weekly positivity rate remains below five per cent at 2.32 per cent, while the daily positivity rate fell to 2.59 per cent, less than three per cent for 21 consecutive days.

The country also reported 724 deaths due to COVID-19 in the last 24 hours. With it, the death toll climbed to 4,08,764.

Meanwhile, over three crore people have recovered from the illness so far, pushing the recovery rate to 97.22 per cent. As many as 39,649 patients recovered in the last 24 hours.

In view of the impending third wave, COVID-19 testing capacity has been substantially ramped up across the country. As many as 43.23 crore tests in total have been conducted as of Monday.

The Nationwide Vaccination Drive has been picking up pace with 37.73 crore vaccine doses administered so far across the country.

Recently, Pearsonmun village in  Churachandpur district of Manipur was declared 100 per cent vaccinated with Covishield.
