Ecosystem Restoration: 3,000 lychee saplings planted

A tree plantation drive was carried by Loktak Downstream Hydroelectric Corporation Limited and Border Security force with the theme ‘Ecosystem Restoration’ at BSP campus located at Gangpimual, Churachandpur.

A tree plantation drive was carried by Loktak Downstream Hydroelectric Corporation Limited and Border Security force with the theme ‘Ecosystem Restoration’ at BSP campus located at Gangpimual, Churachandpur on Tuesday.

During the tree plantation programme led by IG of BSF-STC, Raja Babu Singh and CEO of LDHCL, HN Satya Narayana, around 3,000 lychee saplings were planted to make a lychee farm.

On the occasion, the IGP of BSF-STC said that they are planning fruit bearing trees to fight deforestation and increase greenery in all the areas in collaboration with LDHLC.

The officials from LDHLC said that they are duty bound to control degradation of forest and they are already involved in planting thousands of trees.
