Man arrested with suspected opium hidden in his bedroom

The arrested person and the seized cash totalling Rs 6,29400 were taken to Churachandpur PS.

Churachandpur police arrested one person with around 990 grams of suspected opium along with Rs 6,29,400 in cash on Wednesday.

According to police, the arrested person was identified as Satkholam Haokip, 38, son of Thangnoh Haokip of Tonglal Veng, Churachandpur. He was arrested around 3:40 pm from his residence and the suspected opium was found his bedroom along with the cash that was concealed inside a drawer attached under his bed.

The arrested person and the seized articles were taken to Churachandpur PS, and a case under FIR No.66(6)2021 CCP-PS u/s 18(c) ND and PS Act has been registered for further investigation, it added.
