Yoga Day in the lap of nature in Manipur

This year, Yoga Day was observed in the state on Sunday by maintaining social distancing in view of the COVID-19 pandemic that is fast spreading in the state.

Amid the surge in COVID-19 spread in Manipur, the International Yoga Day 2020 was observed in different parts of the state, in the lap of nature, strictly maintaining social distancing.

This year, Yoga Day was observed in the state on Sunday by maintaining social distancing in view of the COVID-19 pandemic that is fast spreading in the state. The state on Sunday reported a total tally of 842 positive cases.

As per the AYUSH Ministry and other guidelines, emphasis was laid on doing home yoga. Several families observed the Yoga Day at their respective homes.

In Churachandpur district of the state, officials and troops of the STC/Border Security Force observed the sixth International Yoga Day by performing mass Yoga for 45 minutes in the open. Troops were segregated into different groups and placed at different places during the observation.

The participants were told that regular practice of Yoga improves one's health and subsequently boosts one's immune system, which ultimately helps the body to fight COVID-19.

In Moreh district, the One Stop Centre Tengnoupal managed by Centre for Development Activities (CDAC) on Sunday organised International Yoga Day at Ima Kondong Lairembi Haraobung Moreh. Staff of OSC Tengnoupal and many youths took part in the programme.

Yoga instructor K Kanta highlighted the importance of Yoga and trained the participants. The participants thanked the OSC Tengnoupal for organising such programme.
