Amid tight curfew hours, two individuals were arrested while 50 litres of DIC liquor were seized from their possession at Pechi bazar, Thoubal district at around 8 am on Saturday.
As per police sources, the two individuals have been identified as Chingakham Ningthou, 37, son of Shyamkesho and Ch Basanta Singh of Andro khuman leikai.
The source stated that a team of Pechi post personnel led by SI Th Anand Singh and SI M Herojit Singh along with personnel of Pechi post while carrying out duty at Pechi Bazar area in connection with the curfew when one Tata venture white in colour, bearing registration number MN 02B 8182 came from Yairipok side towards Lourembam side.
The said vehicle was stopped and upon searching, they detected about 50 DIC liquor bottles concealed inside.
Further, the two individuals along with the seized liquors were handed over to Yairipok Police Station for further formalities, the source added.
