CM Biren condoles death of Dr Hawlngam Haokip

During his lifetime, reverend Hawlngam had served many Church bodies in different capacities in the state and abroad.

Chief Minister N Biren Singh on Friday expressed his condolence over the untimely demise of reverend Dr Hawlngam Haokip.

“I am deeply aggrieved to learn about the sad and untimely demise of reverend Dr Hawlngam Haokip, general secretary of Kuki Baptist Convention, Dewlahland,” stated his condolence message.

Born in 1938 at Khanbarol, Chandel district, reverend Hawlngam obtained his Doctor of Ministry (D Min) from Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, Louisville, Kentucky, USA in 1980. During his lifetime, reverend Hawlngam had served many Church bodies in different capacities in the state and abroad, it stated.

“Reverend Hawlngam used to pray for the betterment of our state and the government,” he further stated, adding his contributions to the society as a Church leader will always be remembered.

“I offer my condolences and share grief with the bereaved family. May the almighty give them strength to withstand the loss. May his departed soul rest in peace in his heavenly abode,” it added.
