With an aim to raise awareness on the importance of a healthy green environment among the local populace, the Loktak battalion Assam Rifles under the aegis of Churachandpur sector organised a tree plantation drive at Sendra village of Bishnupur district on Monday.

The event began with an informative lecture on the importance of trees in controlling Global Warming which was followed by the tree plantation drive.
Troops of AR planted saplings of multiple varieties of fruit trees and flowers, so as to fulfil the dual purpose of environmental protection and soil conservation.
