W Mobicha Singh is Imphal West District Football Association new president

The annual general body meeting of IWDFA held on Sunday also elected five vice-presidents, one treasurer and eight executive council members.

W Mobicha Singh will head as the new president of Imphal West District Football Association (IWDFA) as he was elected unopposed to the post during the AGM held at AMSA Complex at Mapal Kangjeibung.

The annual general body meeting of IWDFA held on Sunday also elected five vice-presidents, one treasurer and eight executive council members for the term of April, 2021 to April, 2025. All members were elected unopposed as no contestants had filed their nomination papers to the post.

The five vice-presidents are Hijam Meghachandra Singh, N Tomba Singh, L Nandakumar Singh, P Surchand Singh and K Ranjit Singh. The post of treasurer was filled up by Ratan Elangbam.

The executive council members are L Bhagaton Singh, P Sunilkumar Singh, Elangbam Robertson, N Puthiba Meitei, L Ibotombi, M Joychandra Singh, Longjam Achouba Singh and Dilip Oinam.

The AGM meeting of IWDFA was overseen by G Manoranjan Sharma as returning officer while assistant general secretary of AMFA, L Naba Singh was the observer.

Meanwhile, Haorungbam Sulanjoy Singh will retain the post of president of Imphal East District Football Association (IEDFA) for the term 2021-2025 as none had filed nomination papers against him during scrutiny held at the association office at Mapal Kangjeibung on Sunday.

IEDFA also received seven nominations for the post of vice-presidents and two nomination papers for one treasurer post, which were in proper order. The two nomination papers who had filed for the post of treasurer are W Manglem Singh and Luwangsangbam London Singh.

Altogether, 15 candidates including Dr Moirangthem Manimohan Singh had filed their nomination papers for the posts of executive council members and all the papers were found valid to contest the election. The election of new office bearers will be held on May 2.
