The Manipur government on Wednesday issued a modified SOP in continuation and in partial modification of the order on April 18, 2021 for imposition of night curfew, restriction of gatherings, rostered opening of shops in Paona Bazar and Thangal Bazar.
On Sunday, night curfew timing in the state was extended from 7 pm to 5 am against the earlier order of 8 pm to 4 am amid the spike in the number of daily COVID-19 positive cases in the state.
Here's what the new order says:
⦁ Three Ima Keithels and adjoining temporary market to be closed for 10 days,
⦁ One in each three shops located in galis of Thangal Bazar and Paona Bazar; wholesale and grocery item shops in Masjid road; and shops of Ngari Gali to be opened on rotation. For example on day 1 to open Shop Nos. 1, 4, 7, etc; on Day 2 to open shop Nos 2, 5, 8, etc and on day 3 to open shop Nos. 3, 6, 9, etc.,
⦁ All public transport vehicles, including buses, winger vans, magic vans, auto- rickshaws, e-rickshaws, etc., to carry passengers of 50 per cent capacity and ensure all passengers wear face masks always.
⦁ For markets in other districts, the DC and SP to immediately evaluate and issue suitable restriction orders.
⦁ Deputy Commissioner, Imphal West and Superintendent of Police, Imphal West to take necessary action to implement the orders.
