COVID-19 SOP violators in House to be penalised

The Manipur Legislative Assembly has made it mandatory for all its staff, both regular and contract, to wear face masks within the precinct of the House.

The Manipur Legislative Assembly has made it mandatory for all its staff, both regular and contract, to wear face masks within the precinct of the House which includes the New Assembly, Museum and Archives (Old Assembly) and Guest House, Majorkhul, Imphal.

All employees (both regular and contract) of the Assembly Secretariat are to strictly follow and maintain COVID-19 protocols and SOPs issued by the authorities concerned from time to time, stated an office memorandum issued by the secretary of the House.

It also mentioned that all visitors of the said precinct of the House are to compulsorily wear face masks and strictly follow and maintain the said COVID-19 protocols and SOPs during their visit to the afore-mentioned precinct of the House.

Penalty will be imposed against those who failed to comply with the office mandate which was issued in compliance with the advisory order issued by the office of the chief minister on Sunday and in an effort to minimise further spread of COVID-19 pandemic, it added.
