School students collect bags full of plastic wastes in Imphal West

Young volunteers carried out plastic free campaign and collected non-biodegradable wastes from roadsides and public places at Haoreibei, Imphal West on Sunday.

Around 50 young school students took out a plastic free campaign in Imphal West area on Sunday.

The young volunteers collected littered plastics and other non-biodegradable wastes from roadsides and public places at Haoreibei, Imphal West during a ‘Plastic Free Campaign’ organised by Nature Club, Haoreibi on Sunday.

The collected wastes have been disposed at a solid waste management plant situated at Haoreibi, a release by the Nature Club stated.

In view of the alarming climate change and deteriorating environment, the students pledged to dedicate for a better tomorrow, the release stated.

The Nature Club, formed with the motto of keeping the locality green, neat and clean, has decided to organise its series of cleanliness activities fortnightly or once in a month without compromising their academic endeavours, the club added.
