The number of COVID-19 active cases in Manipur surged to 75 on Wednesday as 12 more persons tested positive for the viral infection in a span of 24 hours, according to a release issued by the COVID-19 Common Control Room.
As per the release seven persons from the general population and five Central Armed Police Force (CAPF) personnel were confirmed as new COVID-19 cases.
The new positive case from the general population included two each from Imphal West and Thoubal; and one case each from Imphal East, Ukhrul and Churachandpur. All necessary medical precautionary measures like containment and contact tracing are in place, the release stated.
With the new positive cases, the cumulative number of positive cases in the state reached 29,447, including 28,998 recoveries and 374 deaths. The state's recovery rate is 98.47 per cent, the release added,
It further stated that air passengers who travelled to the state on April 5, 2021 by Indigo flight (Kolkata to Imphal) 6E-6358 in rows 4-10 and rows 12-18 and air passengers who travelled to the state on April 2, 2021 by Indigo flight (Kolkata to Imphal) 6E-6358 in rows 1-6 are to inform the common Covid Control Room at 18003453818 or respective District Surveillance officers (DSO) immediately.
COVID-19 Vaccination Update
As many as 948 more people were administered COVID-19 vaccine in Manipur. The cumulative number of people vaccinated has risen to 89,590, including 31,744 healthcare workers. No severe reactions or adverse event has been reported so far, the release added.
