Naga Students’ Union seals DFO Chandel office

NSUC information and publicity secretary, SN Bungpem said the office will remain closed until and unless the newly appointed DFO takes full charge of the office.

The Naga Students’ Union, Chandel (NSUC) informed that it has locked the office of District Fishery Officer (DFO), Chandel on Monday, demanding the authority concerned to ensure the newly to take charge of the office immediately.

NSUC information and publicity secretary, SN Bungpem said the office will remain closed until and unless the newly appointed DFO takes full charge of the office.

Bungpem requested all the staff of the department to extend their co-operation until the demand of the student’s body is fulfilled.

The incumbent DFO Kh Ibetombi, was placed at the Fishery directorate by government order on March 8 although withdraw her pay and allowances from DFO, Chandel as usual. Subsequently, the order appointed Sumpi Pekham Anal, Fisher inspector, CEO/FFDA, Chandel shall look after the normal works of Fishery Officer/DFO, Chandel, in addition to her normal duties without any extra renumeration with immediate effect and until further order.

The NSUC urged the department concerned to regard and honour the order issued by the government of Manipur and carry out the immediate assumption of office by the new DFO in the large interest of the civic population of Chandel and farmers in particular.
