Rs.165.10 crore spent for payment of claims under Megha Health Insurance Scheme in Meghalaya

MHIS IV has been implemented in convergence with Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (PMJAY) since 2019, according to the state health minister.

The Meghalaya state government has spent Rs 165.10 crore for payment of claims under the Megha Health Insurance Scheme (MHIS) phase-IV.

"The total number of claims is 2,33,187 and the total claims amount paid is Rs 165,10,89,675 as on February 26, 2021," Health Minister AL Hek told the Assembly on Monday.

Replying to a query raised by Nongpoh legislator Mayralborn Syiem, the Health minister informed that a total of 4,25,468 households have registered as on March 1 adding the percentage is 56.46%.

According to him, MHIS IV has been implemented in convergence with Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (PMJAY) since 2019.

He further added that as many as 172 hospitals have been empanelled under the MHIS.
