Special provisions will be given to women, says RK Imo Singh

RK Imo said that all possible efforts are being given to bring an all round development in Sagolband assembly constituency.

A separate committee for women of Sagolband assembly constituency has been formed by giving priority to their welfare, and special attention as well as provision will be given to the women of this committee, MLA Sagolband assembly constituency, RK Imo Singh said on Thursday.

He was speaking at the inaugural function of Wahengbam Yumjao Lairembi Recreation Hall at Wahengbam Leikai on Thursday. It was organised by Wahengbam Yumjao Lairembi Trustee Board.

Attending the function as chief guest, RK Imo said that all possible efforts are being given to bring an all round development in Sagolband assembly constituency. However, support and cooperation from the people of the assembly constituency is highly needed to bring such an achievement, he said.

He also said a separate committee for women was formed to strengthen the role of women of the assembly constituency. Any member of this committee will be given special provisions apart from providing 4 kg rice given National Food Security Act, he said.  Another 4 kgs of rice will be given to every woman, he further said while adding widows’ pensions and old age pensions will be given to every member.

He further said that the prevailing pandemic had hindered many developmental works. But efforts are being made to complete the developmental works without further delay, he added.  

To achieve this, the pace of work has increased since the severity of COVID-19 pandemic has reduced to some extent.

Councilor, Ward No VII, RK Jiten, Councilor Ward No XXIV, G Bino, president, Wahengbam Leikai Development Committee, Longjam Dilip Singh, vice president, Wahengbam Yumjao Lairembi Trustee Board, Wahengbam Prithiraj and president, Wahengbam Yumjao Lairembi Trustee Board, Wahengbam Gyanamani Singh attended as guests of honour and president respectively.
