The union has waited for almost four months with the hope that the state government will conduct the ADCs election as assured earlier by the state government, ATSUM general secretary SR Andria said at the Adimjati office of ATSUM, Imphal.

He asserted that the State Election Commission has already given intimation as February 17 for issuing election notification, third week of March for polling date and to complete the election by second week of April.

“What is the hidden agenda for not issuing the election notice till date? Does the government not want to keep a democratic institute in the hill districts,” the general secretary questioned.

ATSUM will be compelled to take up different forms of agitations by joining hands with the tribal masses, if the state government fails to issue the election notification of ADCs at the earliest, Andria cautioned.
