Crackdown on COVID-19 SOPs Violation: Police detain 241 persons in Imphal

The police warned that the individual (s) who violate the guidelines and restrictions shall be dealt with strong legal action under National Disaster Management Act, 2005.

The Manipur Police have detained 241 individuals for violating the guidelines of COVID appropriate behaviour on Wednesday and released them later after warning. Altogether fines of Rs 28,000, were collected from the violators.

The police department continues to conduct a crackdown on violators of guidelines and restrictions issued by the state government and the State Disaster Management Authority in connection with COVID-19 Pandemic, said a statement issued by Manipur Police.

The restriction includes failure to wear a mask in public places, failure to maintain social distancing in public places, spitting in public places and others, the release stated.
