Six-week skill development programme on food processing inaugurated in Churachandpur

Churachandpur DC exhorted the participants of the training programme and youths of the district to apply for schemes relating to MSMEs.

The six-week long Entrepreneurship cum Skill Development Programme on Food Processing was inaugurated by deputy commissioner of Churachandpur Pawan Yadav on Wednesday at DTC Hall, Tuibong, Churachandpur.

The programme is organised by MSME Development Institute, Takyelpat, Imphal under the Ministry of Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME), Government of India in association with SBI-RSETI, Churachandpur.

Speaking as the chief guest at the inaugural function, Pawan Yadav stated that the training programme is aimed to build and hone the skills of youth and prospective entrepreneurs. While mentioning the pineapple products of the district in Khousabung area as an avenue where entrepreneurs can chip in, he said that the district administration is planning to organise various innovative programmes in the coming days.

He exhorted the participants of the training programme and youths of the district to apply for schemes relating to MSMEs that will be opening up in the near future. He also mentioned that a series of activities under MSME are being planned in connection with the International Women’s Day on March 8.

While giving the keynote address, deputy director of MSME-DI, Imphal, Reeta Yadav said that such a comprehensive training programme is organised to nurture the skills of the youth by inculcating, motivating and providing guidance to them on various aspects.

The inaugural programme was also attended by GM of DIC, Churachandpur, Khailet Haokip and project manager of NARPS/LBI, Churachandpur, Paulalzon Neihsiel.
