Workshop on ‘Research and Publication ethics’ concludes

The two-day National Workshop was organised by School of Education, Manipur University, Canchipur, Imphal from January 15 to 16.


The two-day National Workshop on ‘Research and Publication Ethics’ organised by School of Education, Manipur University, Canchipur, Imphal from January 15 to 16 at the centenary hall of the varsity concluded on Saturday.

Vice chancellor in-charge MU, professor  Amar Yumnam; head of department, department of Philosophy NEHU professor  Vanlalngak; dean, School of Life Sciences, MU professor GA Shantibala Devi; dean, school of Life Sciences , MU, professor  S Mangi Singh; chairman Institutional Human Ethics Committee MU professor M Ranjit Singh and dean school of School of Education MU, T Inaobi Singh; Dean, School of Education attended the function as chief guest, guests of honour and president respectively in the inaugural session, a release stated.

Professor Vanlalnghak delivered a speech on ethics in research and publication while head of department Philosophy MU L Bishwanath Sharma delivered a lecture on ‘Ethics and Its Place in Research’, former dean School of Human and Environmental Science professor W Nabakumar Singh shared his thoughts on ‘Research Integrity and Publication Ethics’, the release added.

It stated that head of department of Basic Science CAU, professor Naorem Okendro Singh gave a presentation on ‘Design to Identify Research Misconduct and Predatory Publication’. Head of the department of Library and Information Science Ch Ibohal Singh conducted a session on ‘Open Access Publications’.

Assistant librarian MU M Lokendro Singh shared his practical knowledge on ‘Plagiarism’. Professor S Dorendrajit Singh department of Physic MU delivered a lecture on ‘Databases and Research Metrics’, a release added.
