The merging process of the United Bank of India (UBI) to Punjab National Bank (PNB) in Tamenglong district headquarters was completed on Saturday. Due to COVID-19, employees of UBI were given training through online on how to use the new software application of PNB.
Manager of PNB, Tamenglong branch, R Angkang urged the customers to bear with the bank officials as they may face inconveniences with the new software. He also appealed to all net banking and mobile banking customers of UBI to log in with PNB App, which may be downloaded from Play Store.
UBI customers can create their new user ID in the PNB App by putting ‘U’ in the beginning of the previous ID, he added.
Angkang said the merging of UBI to PNB began on December 28, 2020. However, there was some inconvenience with the new software and so it got delayed in processing.
The bank manager further said the account number remains the same whereas IFSC and MICR codes of the erstwhile United Bank of India have been changed.
Now, there is no longer United Bank of India, Tamenglong branch but its Punjab National Bank, Tamenglong branch and the new IFSC code for Tamenglong Bazaar branch (171220) is PUNB0171220 and new MICR code is 795024508. For Tamenglong branch (065320), the new IFSC code is PUNB0065320 and new MICR code is 795024507, he added.
