Mizoram reported five more fresh cases of COVID-19 in the past 24 hours, taking the total number of the positive cases to 93. Of them, four were females and one male, state health department said.
The results of the tests were confirmed at Zoram Medical College in Aizawl late Tuesday night.
According to the Health department, three of the five fresh cases are returnees from Maharashtra while the remaining two are individuals had returned from Delhi recently.
The health department said that two of the five fresh cases are from Saitual district while the other three individuals are from the districts of Aizawl, Lawngtlai and Serchhip.
The five fresh cases were among those 669 samples tested for COVID-19 at Zoram Medical College in the past 24 hours.
According to latest update of the COVID-19 status of Mizoram, the state has 92 active cases and one recovery.
It can be mentioned here that the first case of COVID-19 in Mizoram was reported on March 24.
The health department further said that the 92 COVID-19 patients, 48 males and 44 females, are undergoing treatment at Zoram Medical College.
Now, Hnahthial is the only districts of Mizoram which is free of COVID-19 cases.
On Tuesday, Mizoram reported the highest cases of COVID-19 in a single day with 46 people.
