Merry Christmas greetings from Manipur Governor, CM, ministers

As Christmas dawns, several political leaders in Manipur reached out to the people with warm wishes.

Governor of Manipur, Najma Heptulla has conveyed her heartiest greetings to the people of the state, especially the Christian brethren on the auspicious occasion of Christmas.
“Merry Christmas to all the people, especially our Christian brothers and sisters of the state. This is a time to be with family and friends, a time for peace and piety. May Christmas bring hope and happiness to our state,” the governor said in her message.

“We remember the noble teachings of Jesus Christ and recall his efforts towards creating a compassionate and equal society,” she added.
“I wish Christmas to be celebrated by all in its true form and spirit,” Najma said.
Chief minister, N Biren Singh also extended his greetings for Christmas and in his message he stated that “I join the people of Manipur in celebrating Christmas. This day reminds us of the birth of Lord Jesus Christ who personified love and forgiveness.”

“As we celebrate this Holy festival, we must emulate Christ’s eternal message of peace, tolerance, sacrifice, love and forgiveness by opening our hearts and extending our hand to everyone. Let us also strengthen the spirit of humanity and brotherhood among all communities living together in the state,” Biren said.

“As we rejoice in the festivities, we must not forget to follow precautionary norms to protect ourselves from COVID-19. I wish everyone a Merry Christmas,” the CM said.
Minister of YAS and Water Resources, Letpao Haokip in his message stated that “my warm greetings to all the people or our state Manipur, especially to our Christian brethren, on this joyous occasion of Christmas Festival 2020.”

“The blessings of Lord Jesus and his teachings and values are needed in today’s time more than ever before. The current global problem of COVID-19 pandemic may not allow festivities to be observed in full galore, but let us soak into the very essence of goodness, love, equality and peace that this festival associated with for,” he said.
“Once again, May the Christmas season bring us closer in spirit to all those that you treasure in your hearts. Have a Merry Christmas,” Letpao said.

Minister of Works, Th Biswajit Singh extended his warm wishes and best greetings to the people of the state especially the Christian brethren on the happy and joyous occasion of Christmas.
In his message, he stated that Christmas is celebrated commemorating the birth of Lord Jesus Christ, the prince of peace with gaiety and fervor. Lord Jesus was a true messenger of the Almighty sent with the objective to bring a new world order based on truth, humility, sacrifice, equality, compassion and peace, he added.

“On this year’s Christmas celebration, let us renew the spirit of brotherhood, peace and unity and spread his preaching of peaceful co-existence among all communities. May this Christmas bring the joy and happiness in the state,” Biswajit said.
Minister of Agriculture, Oinam Lukhoi Singh also conveyed his warm regards and greetings to all the people of Manipur especially to the Christian brethren on the auspicious and joyous occasion of Christmas.

In his message he said that “Christmas is celebrated all over the world with gaiety and fervor to mark the birth of Lord Jesus Christ. It is a time to rejoice, reflect the noble teachings of Lord Jesus Christ and fills our lives with a sense of love and gratitude for abundant blessings in our lives.”

“May this Christmas uphold and spread the message of peace, love, oneness and a sense of forgiving among ourselves. I wish this day to be celebrated by all in its true form and spirit. Wishing one and all a Merry Christmas,” Lukhoi said.

Minister of Labour and Employment, Th Satyabrata Singh in his message stated that “I convey my warm greetings to the people of Manipur, especially the Christian community, on the joyous occasion of Christmas.”

“The true essence of this festival is reminiscing the values and noble thoughts preached by Jesus Christ that were based on love, vision of compassion and forgiveness and doing everything with a positive mindset. It calls upon the human beings for a spirit of service towards mankind, of love, giving and sharing, alleviating human suffering and endorsing humanity irrespective of caste, creed or religion,” he added.

“Let happiness, good health, prosperity, development and communal harmony spread to every nook and corner of Manipur with the arrival of Christmas. I wish everyone in Manipur a very happy Christmas 2020. Merry Christmas!” Satyabrata said.

Minister of Social Welfare and Cooperation, Okram Henry in his message stated that “I am hereby conveying my heartiest greetings to the people of Manipur especially our Christian brethren and sisters on the joyous occasion of Christmas.”

“Christmas is celebrated with immense gaiety and fervor to mark the birth of Lord Jesus Christ; which is regarded as the beginning of an era of divinity. Let us imbibe the teachings of Jesus Christ towards spreading the spirit of love, joy, peace, tolerance and kindness to the world,” he said.

“I, once again, wish the people of Manipur a Merry Christmas and pray to the Almighty that the festival brings peace, progress, prosperity and good health to the people of this state,” Henry said.
