Misleading of Farm Bill 2020 should be stopped as it was passed in Parliament to bring a change in farmers’ income and bring maximum benefits, Manipur BJP Kishan Morcha vice-president Ksh Kala said.
“Misleading the people and farmers by misinterpreting the Farm Bill 2020 by few political parties must be stopped as the bill was passed in Parliament to bring a change in farmers’ income and bring maximum benefits,” Kala said while speaking to media on the sideline of a one-day programme on ‘Kendra Level Kishan Sammelan, Farm Reform Act 2020’ held at the community hall of Pangei, Imphal East.
Kala said that under the bill, farmers can earn more than before, however, some political parties are misinterpreting the bill and are trying to mislead farmers. he also said that under the bill, the minimum support price of agricultural and farm products will remain as before.
The bill will not abolish wholesalers; moreover, farmers will avail for direct contact with the consumers. Farmers will be given freedom to sell their products directly without contacting the wholesalers, he added.
