Snippets: PHED notifies on water supply

A release issued by PHED said that the construction of the overhead tank and reservoir of the Irom Pukhri W/S Scheme will be taken up at the earliest.

The Public Health Engineering Department (PHED) has notified that the normal supply of water under the jurisdiction of Irom Pukhri Water Supply Scheme will be affected during the construction of overhead tank and reservoir of the water supply scheme. A release issued by PHED said that the construction of the overhead tank and reservoir of the Irom Pukhri W/S Scheme will be taken up at the earliest. “Consumers are requested to kindly bear with the department in the larger interest of the public,” it added.

A team headed by V Vumlunmang, principal secretary Health and chairman, Sub-Committee Oil Palm Manipur inspected Oil Palm Nursery being raised for planting in 200 hectares and Adaptive Trial conducted at KVK, Khangabok, Thoubal District on Wednesday. Vumlunmang was accompanied by M Joy, commissioner Agriculture, Laltanpuii Vanchhong, director Agriculture Manipur and M.S. Khaidem, Consultant Oil Palm Mission, Manipur. The team also inspected the Adaptive trials of 0.25 hectares conducted at Khongjom Kheba Ching by Integrated Mega Tourism Co-operative Society Khongjom under the supervision of District Agriculture Officer, Thoubal.

Solve MUC admission issue at the earliest

All Manipur Arts and Culture Students Union (AMACSU) has appealed to the authorities of Manipur University of Culture and the state government to resolve the ongoing imbroglio of admission at the earliest. The union claimed that delaying in bringing a solution to the problem will affect the students’ career. Condemning the action of the MUC students who stormed into the academic council meeting of the university on November 27, IP secretary of AMACSU Sunandev Wahengbam on Wednesday stated that such violent nature of students who are studying in a culture university is unexpected. Sunandev opined that the incident should not be taken lightly and the students involved must apologise to the teachers for their actions.
