Barak Bridge under repair; heavy vehicle movement restricted for five days

The Barak Bridge between Kambiron and Sibilong along the Jiribam-Imphal road on National Highway-37 is under repair.

In view of the need of urgent repairing of the Barak Bridge between Kambiron and Sibilong along the Jiribam-Imphal road on National Highway-37, movement of all heavy vehicles on the bridge has been restricted for five days with effect from 11 November till November 15.

Informing this, Tamenglong deputy commissioner Armstrong Pame said that light vehicles will be allowed to pass through though heavy vehicles will not be permitted.

During the five days, the National Highways and Infrastructure Development Corporation will supervise the bridge repairing work closely.

“As this being the main highway for the entire state, no further extension beyond this period will be granted and hence all repairing work is to be completed within this period,” he stated.
