Hands-on training in connection with by-elections held

Each of the deputed staff was assigned with all videography equipment.

n connection with the ensuing by-election, a two-day hands-on training of videography for all the deputed staff of videography began on Monday at the office of the chief electoral officer, Lamphelpat, Imphal.

Senior consultant, PM, SEMT, who is also the in-charge of videography of polling stations, Bankimchandra Maisnam informed that step-by-step procedures on how to operate the videography equipment were thoroughly explained during the training.

Each of the deputed staff was assigned with all videography equipment, including a handy-cam with memory card, tripod stand, extension cord and others to be used on the poll day, he asserted. He also stressed that the main objective of using videography during elections is for submission of videographic evidence to the election observers on the following day of the poll.

Maintaining the SOPs of COVID-19, all the 203 deputed videography staffs will be trained in a batch of 20 staff per session, which will continue till Tuesday. Chief electoral officer has also taken up various safety measures to ensure voters a COVID-safe election.
