Mizoram bans bottled thinners, correction fluids

The ban order of the Mizoram government follows the notification of Union Health and Family Welfare Ministry, which directed states to ban these substances.

The Mizoram government Monday banned the production and sale of bottled correction fluids and bottled thinners widely used by people, especially in offices.

According to the government order, these bottled correction fluids and bottled thinners allegedly are used by youth as intoxicants. They allegedly use these substances by inhaling to get the stimulating effects.

The ban order of the Mizoram government follows the notification of Union Health and Family Welfare Ministry, which directed states to ban these substances.

According to the Mizoram government, the ban order will be enforced by the Excise and Narcotics department. It also said that the Food and Drugs Administration Wing of the Mizoram Health department will monitor the enforcement of the ban order.
