Two Manipuris arrested with heroin in Assam

Six packets of heroin number 4 weighing about 3.45 kilogram was recovered from the cabin of a truck.

Assam Police arrested two persons along with 3.45 kilogram of contraband Heroin No.4 powder heading from Imphal to Guwahati on Sunday.

Acting on a tip-off, a team of Laharijan police of Karbi Anglong detained a six wheeler truck heading towards Guwahati, police reported.

When the police team detains and on being through search and verification 6 packets of heroin number 4 weighing about 3.45 kilogram was recovered from the cabin of the said truck.

On further verification the two occupants in the truck was found out to be Manipuris identified as Tame Gurung, 27, and Bhim Gurung, 33 and reveal that they were heading towards Guwahati from Imphal.

A case has been registered at concerned police station under Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (ND and PS) Act and with appropriate IPC.
