The All Manipur Students’ Union (AMSU) would be organising a discourse on the government’s order which directed the private and aided schools to collect 30 per cent tuition fees, with other student bodies and guardians on October 10.
A release issued by publicity and information secretary of AMSU Lhunpao Lupheng said that the government’s order of collecting 30 per cent tuition fees, which is contrary to the previous order of exempting tuition fees, cannot be accepted by the people of Manipur.
It said that the discourse will be held at the premises of AMSU headquarters located at the campus of DM University, Imphal.
“AMSU has been raising voice to exempt tuition fees for the non-working months during the lockdown period and the former education minister Th Radheshyam had also asked not to take tuitions fees for the lockdown period considering the sufferings of the people due to the pandemic,” it said.
In order to discuss the matter with the guardians and to come to a joint decision, AMSU is organising the discourse, it said adding that interested guardians, who like to share their opinions and views can contact through the official WhatsApp no. 7005000656 and 8794145874.
