Assam Rifles conducts security meetings with 65 village chiefs in Manipur

The village chiefs assured full support to Assam Rifles.

The Assam Rifles organised monthly security meetings at Pangaltabi, Sugnu, Shalluk, Joupi and Sehlon on October 2-5. A release by IGAR (S) said that 65 village chiefs, secretaries and villagers attended the said meetings. Necessary COVID protocols were stringently implemented in the meetings. The discussions in the meetings focused on recent socio-political developments, prevailing security situation and future challenges. Plans for implementing pending and forecasted civic action programmes were also discussed, it added. The village chiefs expressed their willingness to maintain close liaison with Assam Rifles and assured their full support. The village chiefs also expressed their gratitude and thanked Assam Rifles for the efforts taken to ensure peace and tranquility in the area, added the release.
