Directorate of Health Services conducts online training on air pollution

The online training programme was conducted with the help of 10 state trainers led by deputy director of Public Health and state nodal officer of Environmental Health, Dr Y Premchandra Singh.

In preparation for the observation of ‘1st International Day of Clean Air for Blue Skies’, scheduled to be held on September 7 in Manipur, the environmental health cell under Directorate of Health Services, Manipur conducted a district level trainers’ training programme on ‘Air Pollution and its Impact on Health’  through  online classes.

The online training programme was conducted with the help of 10 state trainers led by deputy director of Public Health and state nodal officer of Environmental Health, Dr Y Premchandra Singh. The state trainers were trained by the national faculty under National Programme on Climate Change and Human Health (NPCCHH).

The state level observation on September 7 will be organised at Directorate of Health Services under the theme 'Clear Air for All’. Tree plantation, theme talks and awareness campaign on air pollution will be the main activities of the event.

As a continuation of the programme, a week-long campaign on awareness of air pollution and use of face masks will be held in all the health centres from September 8 onwards.
