The Village Authority Chairman Council (VACC) National Highway-37, Tousem Sub-Division Tamenglong district, has demanded that the museum of the freedom fighter Rani Gaidinliu (Ranima) must be constructed at her native place in Tamenglong district.
The VACC, NH-37, in a statement, expressed strong disagreement against the proposal of building a Museum of Rani Gaindinliu at Makhan under Sanapati district.
“The name of the Museum shall be inscribed as ‘Rani Gaidinliu freedom fighter Museum’ and shall not compromise to any other names or style. The villages Authority Chairman Council National Highway-37 shall not hesitate to hold any form of agitation if the demand to construct the museum at her native place in Tamenglong district is not fulfilled,” it stated.
VACC, NH- 37 appealed to the central government and government of Manipur and the authority concerned to construct the museum at her native place. Rani Gaidinliu had fearlessly fought against the British and refused to bow down, it stated. She continued to fight for her rights and freedom of the country; her sacrifices and contributions to the country shall be remembered, it added.
