Minister Th Radheshyam urges public to maintain proper social distancing

Education Minister Th Radheshyam on Wednesday appealed to the public to maintain proper social distancing and minimum gathering at any ceremonies to prevent further spread of COVID-19 in the state.

Dr Radheshyam while speaking to the media on Wednesday at the district headquarters of Thoubal, said that a high-level district administration of Thoubal was convened today to overview the alarming wide spread of COVID-19 in the district.

The review meeting which was attended by MLSs, DCs, SPs, CMOs and other officials deliberated on the grievances faced due to shortage of frontline workers, particularly medical staff and shortage of equipment like ambulances to fight the pandemic COVID-19 spreading in the district, he added.

To ease the grievances of the people of the district, the resolution of the meeting will be tabled at the state cabinet which has been scheduled on Thursday, Radheshyam further added.

The minister also appealed to the public to stop stigmatisation of the frontline workers and COVID-19 positive persons.
