Meghalaya COVID-19 positive tally climbs to 937

Of the new cases, 19 COVID-19 positive cases were reported from East Khasi Hills district while one was reported from West Garo Hills.

Meghalaya on Wednesday reported 20 more COVID-19 patients, taking the state’s positive tally to 937 and active cases to 594, health official sources said.

Of the new cases, 19 COVID-19 positive cases were reported from East Khasi Hills district while one was reported from West Garo Hills. East Khasi Hills district now has 488 active cases, including 240 civilians, 189 Border Security Force (BSF) personnel and 59 armed forces.

Ri-Bhoi has 51 active cases while East Jaintia Hills has 17, West Jaintia Hills 16, West Garo Hills 15, West Khasi Hills 5 and South Garo Hills 2, the health department said.

Meanwhile, the total recoveries rose to 338, while five patients have died so far.
