Manipur: One tests positive for COVID-19 in Senapati

District magistrate, Senapti, Lalithambigai K has ordered sealing of the geographical area and prohibited entry and exit of people from the containment area.

One resident of Taphou Phyamai village, Senapati district in Manipur tested COVID-19 positive on Wednesday, official sources said.

District magistrate, Senapti, Lalithambigai K has ordered sealing of the geographical area and prohibited entry and exit of people from the containment area.

The magistrate also ordered closure of the school and public gathering of any types and banned vehicular movement in the area. The order also stated that active surveillance of COVID-19 cases will be initiated in the area.

Any persons, organisation, institution found violating any of the containment measures shall be deemed to have committed an offence punishable under Section 188 of the Indian Penal Code, the order said.
