Brawl during gambling ends in knife attack, two injured

A case has been registered by Lilong Police station and police are on the hunt to arrest absconder accused Feroj Khan.

A gambling session turned into a brawl and ended in a knife attack where two brothers suffered injuries on the intervening night of Wednesday and Thursday at Lilong Leihaokhong Leikai under Lilong police station, Thoubal district, Manipur.

It is said that one of the injured is in a critical condition. As per police reports, one Md Habimal Rahman,35, and his elder brother Md Taj khan, son of (late) Turab Ali from Lilong Leihaokhong leikai were gambling together with one Md Feroz khan, 43, son of Abdul Manal alias Nahamacha who also hails from the same locality.

Around past 1 am, the gambling session turned into a brawl and Md Feroz khan allegedly attacked both the brothers with a knife. He is now absconding after the attack. Habimal who got critically injured in the attack is undergoing treatment at JNIMS while Md Taj khan, who is said to be  a 33 AR personnel, is receiving treatment at the Rural Hospital in Lilong.
