The large number of students vandalized office property with the staff of the varsity unable to control the mob even as they tried. In the process, some of the students suffered minor injuries. The police soon came and tokk stock of the situation.

Following the incident, a meeting was held between the students and officials of the varsity which lasted for over an hour.

Addressing the media after their discussion with university authority, general secretary in-charge, Students’ Union of DM College of Arts, Irom Dimocha stated that they have been demanding for issuance of their marksheets for over a month.

However, the authority of the university had been delaying till date even as the last date for submission of scholarship form is November 30.

The last date for the submission of scholarship forms for OBC, ST, SC was extended for another one month and is to end on November 30. For national scholarship too, the last date falls on same day i.e. November 30, Dimocha said.

In view of this scholarship deadline, they have been demanding to give out the semester marksheet since the beginning of November. However, they kept on delaying and that provoked them to take such action, he added.
