AR foils cross border narcotic trafficking

Around 56 grams of brown sugar worth around Rs 11.2 lakh were seized by a team of Assam Rifles from the possession of an individual on November 26.

Around 56 grams of brown sugar worth around Rs 11.2 lakh were seized by a team of Assam Rifles from the possession of an individual on November 26, stated IGAR (South) in a release.

It was seized during checking and frisking conducted at Mobile Vehicle Check Post in Moreh, by the troops of Moreh Battalion Assam Rifles from an individual who was moving suspiciously on a Kenbo bike, it stated.

The seized narcotics along with the drug trafficker were handed over to Moreh police station for further legal action, it added.
