Manipur's COVID-19 death toll rose to 1,927 as one more patient in Thoubal district succumbed to the illnesss on Thursday. The state also recorded 58 new COVID-19 positive cases, pushing the state's tally to 1,23,957, according to the latest update by the state health department. The positivity rate stood at 3.8 per cent.
The single COVID-19 victim from Thoubal had co-morbidities and was not vaccinated, according to a release issued by the state COVID-19 Common Control Room.
As per the release, Imphal West and Imphal East continued to report the highest number of new COVID-19 cases with 24 and 17 cases respectively. Three cases were reported each from Thoubal and Ukhrul, two each from Bishnupur, Senapati and Tengnoupal and one each from Chandel, Kakching, Kamjong, Kangpokpi and Tamenglong.
The state also recorded 57 new recoveries, taking the cumulative number of recovered cases to 1,21,326.
The recovery rate is 97.88 per cent, the release added.
Manipur now has 704 COVID-19 active cases, as per the release.
Meanwhile, a total of 738 D-type Oxygen Cylinders and 154 B-type Oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health institutions and health facilities of Manipur in the last 24 hours.
As per the latest update, the total number of people who have been administered vaccine had reached 19,97,230 (first dose: 12,52,013 second dose: 7,45,217).
