Kakching District Journalists Association (KDJA) condemned the assault on the vice president of Thoubal District Working Journalists Union and Thoubal district correspondent of Naharol Thoudang Elangbam Rameshwor allegedly by 20 workers of Heirok Block Congress.
A release by KDJA stated Elangbam Rameshwor was assaulted by the alleged workers at his home at 7.45 am. Lamenting the act of assaulting one of the working journalists who risk their lives to serve the people, KDJA considers that the incident was an act of defaming all the media fraternity. KDJA demands the authority to take up immediate actions against the suspects, it stated.
KDJA will support Thoubal District Working Journalist Union in any resolutions taken in this regard, the release added.
