Go Green, Go Clean: Cabs halt services to conduct tree plantation-cleanliness drive in Imphal

Imphal Cabs Services appealed to the state to provide proper attention and support the ‘Go Green, Go Clean’ campaign.

Imphal Cabs Services on Friday halted services for a day and conducted a tree plantation-cleanliness drive at Athouba Khubam of Thangmeiband Cheiraoching as a part of their ‘Go Green, Go Clean’ campaign.

The campaign was initiated with the goal of inviting tourists from other states to plant trees in tourist spots of Manipur, encouraging afforestation every year, stated a release issued on Friday.

Imphal Cabs Services expressed their gratitude to Bishnupur Forest department, Manipur for providing 50 tree saplings for the campaign, it stated.

The drive was attended by headmistress of Langthabal Kunja Junior High School Kshetrimayum Babylee and participated by more than 30 members of Imphal Cabs Service with the support of members of Kanglei Upliftment Building (Kangleipung) from Noney and Keithelmanbi, it added.

As a part of the drive which started from 7 am till 11 am, the participants conducted tree plantations and social services, including cleaning of plastic water bottles, snacks packages and pan stains etc., in and around the hiking paths, it stated.

Urging the hikers and visitors of the tourist site to avoid littering and become more conscious of the environment, Imphal Cabs Services appealed to the state to provide proper attention and support the ‘Go Green, Go Clean’ campaign on other tourist sites as well, it added.
