Manipur’s COVID-19 recovered cases surpassed the number of active cases on Saturday for the first time since the government began evacuation of state natives from other states in early May.
According to a release from COVID-19 Common Control Room, altogether nine persons tested positive for the coronavirus while as many as 28 persons were discharged from Covid Care Centres in the last 24 hours.
With this, the cumulative number of positive cases stand at 1,325 out of which 658 are active cases and 667 have recovered. The recovery rate is 50.33 per cent as of now, it said.
It also said that the fresh COVID-19 cases include six from Senapati, two from Imphal East and one from Bishnupur. All necessary medical precautionary measures like containment and contact tracing are in place, the release added.
